Detailed description

Moon Valley Country Club, is a Semi-Private, 36 hole golf facility located in Phoenix, Arizona. The facility has two 18-hole golf courses. They are The Championship Course and The Par-3 Course. The Par-3 Course (Moon Walk) is not open to the public, it is only available to members of Moon Valley Country Club. The Championship Course offers both membership and public play options.

The Championship Course at Moon Valley Country Club first opened for play in 1958. The course was designed by The team of Dick Wilson and Joe Lee. This was Wilson and Lee's only Arizona course and one of less than a handful of West Coast courses. The course has been renovated by Bob Cupp.

In the 1980's the course was purchased by Karsten Solheim (Inventor and owner of Ping). For 14 years the course hosted the LPGA's Standard Register Ping Open, where in 2001 Annika Sorenstam’s scored her historic LPGA Tour low round 59.

The Club suffered financial difficulties but was saved from bankruptcy in 2013 with a purchase by Asian investors.

Water is normally not in play, but numerous strategically placed bunkers can be problematic.

#18, a par-4 requires an accurate drive to avoid the bunkers on the right and the trees and water on the left. You'll then be faced with what many consider to be the most intimidating shot at Moon Valley Country Club. A fairway hit to the double-tiered 18th green that slopes from front to back with bunkers in front and back.

Black tees: par-72, 7,216 yards, 74.3 / 125
Blue tees: par-72, 6,584 yards, 71.1 / 120
White tees: par-72, 5,998 yards, 68.1 / 118(M), 73.8 / 130(W)
Red tees: par-72, 5,285  yards, 69.7 / 121
