The course, which first opened for play in 1945, was designed by William P. Bell.

Numerous trees can effect your shots. There is no water on the course, but there are strategically placed sand bunkers incorporated into the course design.

Watch out for # 5, a 433 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 9, a 195 yard par-3.

The course remained open for a number of years after the official base closure in July 1999, The course was closed in 2007 for a renovation that was to be completed by 2009. As of 2014, there has been no renovation and the existing course layout has been bulldozed.
