Detailed description

The South Forty Golf Course and Driving Range is a challenging 9 hole, par 3, links style golf course. The course is located in Cortez, Colorado; just northeast of the Four Corners area where the four states of Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Utah meet.

South Forty was once a dairy farm. The driving range was completed in 1996, and the par 3 course was opened in 2008. The course was designed by owners Bruce and Nancy Maness.

A round of golf costs $10. Just put $10 into the envelope and drop it into the "Fee Box" slot.

The course and range are located on about 48 acres. The area is surrounded by the Ute Mountain, Mesa Verde, and the La Plata Mountain Range. A creek runs through the middle of the course, offering several challenging crossings.

Since the course can be self-service, they are open daily, from sun-up till sun-down. The ball dispenser for the driving range works on $1 bills or tokens only. It takes $2 for a half bucket, or $4 for a full bucket of balls. A round of golf is only $10 for adults and $5 for students over 12 years old. They take cash and checks only, leave those credit and debit cards at home.
