Detailed description

The Amelia Island Plantation resort facility in Amelia Island has 54 holes of golf. They have three18-hole golf courses, they are The Ocean Links Course, The Oak Marsh Course, and The Long Point Course. The Omni Amelia Island Plantation recently invested over 3 million dollars towards updating the driving range, golf pro shop and dining venue - Marsh View Bar & Grill with outdoor deck and grilling station overlooking the 9th hole of Oak Marsh. Catch breathtaking sunsets while enjoying a cocktail and light fare on the deck. Oak Marsh and Ocean Links were also renovated.

The Ocean Links golf course at Omni Amelia Island Plantation first opened for play in 1975. The course was designed by Robert Weed.

Winding along a coastal Atlantic dune ridge, Ocean Link's hole numbers 4, 5, 6, 15 and 16 are oceanfront golf holes with fairways and greens parallel to the beach. The majority of the Ocean Links holes feature lagoons and marsh wetlands. #18 is a par-3 whose green is placed strategically in the waters of Red Maple Lake.

The course winds through six miles of the natural sand dunes and seaside terrain that make Amelia Island so special. It can be said that this course offers as much a nature tour as a round of golf.

Omni Amelia Island Plantation's Ocean Links golf course plays to a par-70 and 6,108 yards. The course rating is 70.3 and the slope rating is 134. The course yardage is deceiving because small greens, narrow fairways, and prevailing winds make the course play much longer.

Closed November 12, 2017 _____

The course and it's five ocean holes were closed and bulldozing of the course began in November 2017.
