Detailed description

The David Toms 265 Academy is a World Class Instruction and Training Facility for golfers of all skill levels. We offer training for beginners all the way to experts trying to keep their skills at peak performance.

The facility features a 9-hole par 3 course designed to simulate approach shots on par 4’s or a third shot into a par 5 hole. Par 3 provides practice and fun with a variety of shots from 120 yards and in. The practice teeing areas provide ample tee space and pristine turf conditions with a variety of target greens to dial in yardage. Eight practice greens offer the golfer the opportunity to hone their putting, chipping, pitching, and bunker skills with precision. The Loop is the perfect place to tie it all together after your practice sessions and features a par 5, par 3, and par 4.

The Loop

“After working on your game at the par 3 course and the practice range, we want to give our players a quality experience to implement all facets of the game. Our par 5 can stretch to almost 600 yards and offers many challenges along the way. While there is a generous landing area, out-of-bounds is on the left and a ball short right will find water. If you decide to lay up on your second shot, be careful because a pot bunker sits in the middle of the fairway about 60 yards short of the green. The green is fronted by a bunker on the left and we have some deep rough on the right.”

“The 2nd hole is a long par 3 that can play up to 250 yards, but we encourage each of our guests to play from a yardage they need to practice. Trees are all down the left side and a large bunker protects the left side of the green while a smaller pot bunker guards the right side. The front of the green is open which will allow for a ball to run up.”

“The 3rd hole plays around 415 yards and looks very narrow from the teeing area. It’s a fun par 4, but you won’t want to miss your approach to the right because there is a pretty severe slope that will put any errant shot in the water.”
