Detailed description

Kenduskeag Valley Golf Club is a Public, 9 hole golf course located about 20 minutes north of Bangor on ME 15, just north of Kenduskeag, Maine.

The course opened for play in 1958. The course was designed by Robert Gerven.

The course plays to a maximum 9-hole distance of 2,562 yards for a par of 34, with a course rating of 32.0 and a 108 slope. The course is routed over hilly ground on the Kenduskeag Stream with tree-lined fairways, and small, perched greens, a classic old layout.

Significant changes were made to the course in 2012. The changes were: a new third green, creating a very short (246-yard) par 4; a long fourth hole that combines the rest of the old par-5 third with the short, uphill par-3 fourth making a 400 yard hole bordered all the way with the Kenduskeag Stream ; and, most dramatically, a new tee box on No. 8 that has turned a blind tee shot par 3 into a visually striking short (265-yard) par 4.

The primary reason for the new third green was that the old green sat next to the Kenduskeag Stream. The stream flooded out No. 3 all the time, and the No. 4 tee box kept losing some ground to the stream each year. The third green now sits on higher ground.

The course closed in 2015 after the season ended.

The 77-acre property, valued at $625,000, was sold and will be used as a family homestead.
