Detailed description

Liverpool Golf & Public Country Club is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Liverpool, New York.

Liverpool Golf & Public Country Club first opened for play in 1949. The course was designed by Archie Ajemian.

Archie and Rose Ajemian purchased Hiawatha Golf Course in 1947. The golf course had been closed during World War II, so it was a very large challenge to redevelop the property. It was 1949 when the golf course opened to the public.

Liverpool Golf & Public Country Club has many mature oak trees lining its narrow fairways. Water hazards (ponds and creeks) come into play on some holes, including #2, a 168-yard, par 3, with the only island green in central New York.

Blue tees: par-71, 6,143 yards, 68.9 /120
White tees: par-71, 5,924 yards, 65.6 /116
Red tees: par-71, 5,412 yards, 67.5 / 116

After over 70 years in business, the family-owned%u200B course closed in March 2020.

Trammell Crow Co. is buying the golf course on Morgan Road north of the village of Liverpool and plans to build in its place a $350 million, 3.8-million-square-foot distribution center that will employ at least 1,000 people. Think Amazon.%u200B
