Detailed description

Squaw Valley Golf Course is a Public, 36 hole golf facility located 60 miles Southwest of the DFW Metroplex in Glen Rose, Texas. The facility has two championship 18-hole golf courses, they are: The Apache Links Golf Course and The Commanche Lakes Golf Course.

The first of the two course, Apache Links, opened in 1992 and was designed by Jeff Brauer. Commanche Lakes opened in 2001 and was designed by John Colligan.

The Apache Links Golf Course____________________________

Apache Links Golf Course's front ninend its back nine has narrow fairways that are tree lined and undulating. The course has some mounding to the flat terrain, and a scenic creek comes into play, mostly on the back.

# 9 is the best hole on the front because of its split fairway. "Hit it and rip it" golfers can go for the green by aiming over the lake, however most golfers would be advised to play the 362 yardstee to green down left side, where it doglegs around the lake.

#15 and 16 are tough back-to-back par 4s. #15 measures 462 yards and doglegs right, requiring a tee shot over the creek. The long approach is especially challenging due to the long row of trees at the corner of the green. #16 has an elevated green above Squaw Creek. Play for position off the tee because the hole is not long and you're going to want to go for the green..

Gold tees: par-72, 7,063 yards, 73.6/130

Blue tees: par-72, 6,731 yards, 71.9/125

White tees: par-72, 6,284 yards, 69.6/119

Black tees: par-72, 5,194 yards, 68.0/116

Red tees: par-72, 5,009 yards, 70.0/117

Squaw Valley Golf Club is consistently rated as one of the top courses in the state, including a 4 1/2 star rating from Golf Digest Magazine, and home to the #1 and #4 municipal courses in Texas by The Dallas Morning News. Perfect for a day trip or even better for a weekend golf getaway, Squaw Valley features beautiful vistas of century old Oak trees and Squaw Creek that meanders through both courses

The Commanche Lakes Golf Course____________________________

The Commanche Lakes Golf Course opened for play in March 2001. It is an 18 hole par 72 course designed by John Colligan. This championship track measures 7,000 yards from the tips, and boasts well over 100 bunkers.
