Detailed description
Gospel Hill Golf & Country Club is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Gospel Hill Golf & Country Club first opened for play in 1962. The course was designed by Ed Kerner

In 1958, Ed Kerner looked over the land he owned off Reese Rd. He noticed that there were certain similarities between the land before him and the contours of a golf course. He loved to play golf, but instead of playing that day, he walked his land and decided to build a golf course. It took 5 years to complete the first nine holes, which opened in 1962 to the public. In 1964, he purchased the ajacent property for course expansion. Two years later (in 1966) Gospel Hill's back nine opened making the course a full 18-hole venue.

The front side of Gospel Hill is short, 2,228 yards. The back nine, 3,299 yrds. It's like playing two different golf courses.

Gospel Hill Golf & Country Club's course has a hilly front nine and a long and flat back nine. There is water that comes into play on two holes. The medium-sized greens are slow. Even though this course is somewhat short, it still requires straight tee shots due to its narrow fairways. About half of the holes were cut out of the woods.

The golf course at Gospel Hill Country Club plays to a maximum distance of 5,527 yards. The course rating is 65.3 and the slope rating is 109. Par for the course is 70. Par for the front nine is 33 and par for the back nine is 37.
