Detailed description

The design of "Mt Airy's 18 Best Golf Course" is based on the 18 best holes in the United States, as selected by Sports Illustrated in 1966.

Mt Airy's 18 Best Golf Course is a resort golf course, primarily links in design, however, it is not typically flat. There is subtle sloping throughout the layout. There is a great variety of greens design, both in size and contour. They range in size from the largest, measuring 9,800 square feet, to the smallest, covering just 3,400 square feet. Nine holes are affected by water, in the form of seven ponds and one creek. There are five par 5's and five par 3's on the course. The longest par 5 tops out at 556 yards from the back tee. The signature hole is #18, a 556-yard, par 5, which faces the resort hotel. It features a dogleg fairway that breaks slightly to the right. Water skirts the entire left side of the fairway.
