Detailed description

Mount Summit Golf Course is a Public, 9 hole golf course located in Uniontown, Pennsylvania.

Mount Summit Golf Course first opened for play in 1930.

This mountain course features undulating greens averaging about 5,000 square feet in size. Even though the fairways are tree lined, they still afford generous landing areas. Water hazards do not come into play.

The most difficult hole is #8, a 170-yard, par 3, featuring a triple-tiered green. The most scenic hole is #4, a 345-yard, par 4, offering a sixty mile view of the countryside in all directions.

There is an additional set of men's tees that can be used when playing an eighteen hole round.

As one of the earliest courses in the area, it attracted some of the games best. Sam Parks Jr., winner of the 1935 US Open, was the Summit Inn’s golf pro in 1931. He went on to have a very successful career competing in 18 Masters tournaments, 14 US Opens, and 12 PGA Championships. In 1923, Pete Dye’s father played his first round of golf here at The Summit. He then returned to Ohio, gathered a group of investors together and designed and built a 9-hole course called Urbana Country Club.
