Altadena Valley Country Club is a private 18 hole golf course located in Birmingham, Alabama.

Altadena Valley Country Club first opened for play in 1940.The course was designed by Wally Nall.

The golf course sits on approximately 120 acres of land bordering the Cahaba River.

Par for the course is 71. From the back tees the course plays to 6,045 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5.122 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 15, a par-5 that plays to 533 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 14, a par-3 that plays to 156 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 9, a 342 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 4, a 382 yard par-4.

This course offers a challenge to all. The narrow fairways are tree lined, and the greens are small. There are trees and ponds that come into play on some holes. In April 1999 all 18 greens were rebuilt from the ground up with the new Tift Eagle Bermuda grass. In addition to the new greens, AVCC has undertaken a vigorous landscaping project throughout the course making it better than ever.

The course closed on May 21, 2015.

The city council in Vestavia Hills, Ala., has approved annexation plans for the vacant, 200-acre property. A developer plans to build housing on 135 acres, and donate the remaining acreage to the city for use as a park.
