Heatherwood Hills Country Club, previously named Heatherwood Golf Club and previously private, is now a semi-private, 18 hole golf course located in Birmingham, Alabama.
Heatherwood first opened in 1986. The course was designed by Arthur L. Davis. The course was completely rebuilt in 2001. The golf course was redesigned by John LaFoy.
Par for the course is 71. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,351 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 4,752 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 18, a par-5 that plays to 501 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 11, a par-3 that plays to 175 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 5, a 397 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Heatherwood Golf Club is # 17, a 353 yard par-4.
The course closed in 2008 but reopened in October 2016.
About 100 local homeowners pooled funds to purchase, renovate and reopen the property, all while voluntarily mowing the course throughout its eight-year closure. The formerly private club is now semi-private.
