The Pikeville Country Club golf course first opened for play in 1960. The course, initially a 9-hole challenge, was designed by Frank Jones. The course was expanded to 18 holes in 2004. The expansion design was done by Jeff Pate.
The Pikeville Country Club golf course was built on one of the highest peaks in Alabama, near the Appalachian Mountains. This very scenic course was cut out of a wooded area. The fairways are wide though, and the greens are undulating and hard to read. There are ponds that come into play three times.
