Heritage Golf Course, formerly known as Palisades Golf Course, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Oneonta, Alabama.
Heritage Golf Course first opened for play in 1990. The course was designed by Bob White. Bob and his family have been in Blount County for generations. They're well-known in the nursery business, which was a good training ground for Bob in learning the golf course business.
Heritage Golf Course is situated in a valley surrounded by scenic mountains. It's not the longest course (par-71, 6,369 yards from the tips), but it's a fun layout that offers plenty of challenge. You have to be accurate or you'll pay the price.
#5 a 231 to 329 yard par 4 is a prime example, requiring accurate tee shots and approaches that avoid the trees left and right. Some would call it a good risk-reward shot. Many say it's more risk than reward.
#8 a 110 to 165 yard par-3 is another good example that accuracy is paramount. A wall of rocks sits to the left of the green and a collection area to the right can leave you with difficult chip shots.
#9. a par-5 is a demanding drive with a large boulder in the middle of the fairway. Play too far right and your ball will roll into the woods so be sure your left of the boulder because the fairway cuts hard right so the trees will come into play.
#10 is a sharp dogleg left par-4 that almost forces you to play a long iron or hybrid off the tee.
#11 is a par 3 is straight uphill
The course has a strong five-hole finish, including a pair of par-5s, #15 and 18. The dogleg right 15th (402 to 557 yards) plays over a corner of a lake (bite off as much as you can), and the dogleg left 18th (504 yards from the back tees) is a good finishing hole.
