Cherokee Ridge Country Club is a Private 18 hole golf course located in Union Grove, Alabama.
Cherokee Ridge Golf course opened in 1992. The course was designed by Sammy Dean.
The course is a part of the Cherokee Ridge gated, private country club community. The course is set against a spectacular North Alabama Appalacian backdrop. The 6,600-yard par 72 championship layout fits naturally into the landscape. The course takes every advantage of rolling hills, whispering woods, lakes and streams - natural beauty that enhances, not punishes. Much of the front nine is guraded by a 17-acre lake - an added challenge and beautiful diversion. The back nine turns through a forest of pines and hardwoods, with three holes reconfigured to include a view of an 80-foot waterfall cascading into Lynn's Creek. # 11 is a 150 yard, par-3. This is just one of several all carry par 3s. 311 has a two tiered green from left to right. Front left is 135 yards, back right is almost 170. Birdies can be made in the middle and front left. Back right is a sucker pin. Two bunkers in front of the green protect against short shots. It is ok to go a little long on this hole but, not too much.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,574 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,190 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 3, a par-5 that plays to 537 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 11, a par-3 that plays to 157 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 3, the537 yard par-5 challenge is the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole atCherokee Ridge is # 15, the 157 yard par-3.
