Emerald Mountain Golf Club is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Wetumpka, Alabama, within the Emerald Mountain residential community. The course is privately owned, offering both memberships as well as tee times for the general public.
Emerald Mountain Golf Club first opened for play in 2000. The course was designed by Ward Northrup.
The front nine winds through a forest with several dramatic elevation changes, and the back side is predominantly flat with marshlands coming into play. Water comes into play on 14 holes, and there is plenty of sand (more than 60 bunkers) on the course.
#1 is a par-5 (399 to 542 yards) requiring a tee shot over water and a second shot over a creek that bisects the fairway.
#3 is a tough par-4 (287 to 459 yards) with a creek forcing all but the longest hitters to lay up, leaving a 200-yard approach.
#6 is a short par-3 (110 to 157 yards) that plays from a slightly elevated tee over a ravine to a green protected by four bunkers.
#10 starts a stretch of holes that wind their way through a marsh, offering golfers several opportunities to lose golf balls and a few opportunities to see gators.
#15 (109 to 188 yards) is that rare par-3 where you can't see the green from the tee (the brush growing out of the marsh blocks your view).
Emerald Mountain Golf Course plays to a par-72 and measures 7,023 yards from the back tees. The course rating is 73.5 with a slope rating of 133.
