Quail Walk Country Club, previously private, is now a semi-private (open to the public) 18 hole golf course located in Wetumpka, Alabama.
The Quail Walk Golf Course first opened for play in 1974.
The course is located in a valley within the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, running adjacent to the Coosa River. Many holes offer extremely scenic vistas. Water hazards (ponds) come into play on some holes, and numerous trees can alter your shots. Tee times are normally open but it does not hurt to call.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,534 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,251 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 17, a par-5 that plays to 557 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 6, a par-3 that plays to 154 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 2, a 428 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 13, a 136 yard par-3.
The course closed on July 18, 2018.

Earl Singleton bought it in 2008.
“We’ve been operating for 10 years now,” Singleton said. “When I bought it, I was 68. I’m 78 now. It’s just time for the old man to go to the house. I retired at 62, and we did some traveling. For the past 10 years, we haven’t done much traveling.
“If we want to travel, now’s the time. I’ve got a few more things to do and now is the time to do them.”
The property covers 160 acres and has an 18-hole golf course, along with swimming pool, tennis courts, a restaurant and support buildings.
“It’s a great opportunity,” Singleton said. “I’d love for the city to buy it. It would be a shame for the course to close. It could be a great asset for Wetumpka.”
