Poston Butte Golf Club is a Semi-Private 18 hole golf course located in Florence, Arizona.
Poston Butte Golf Course first opened for play in 2007. The course was designed by Gary Panks.
The course is a par 72 and offers 5 sets of tees ranging from 5,300 yards - 7,300 yards in length providing golfers of all skill levels an enjoyable experience. Fairway views offer golfers a glimpse of the historic pyramid shaped fire temple resurrected in the 1800's by Charles Poston from an Apache ruin on a butte nearby capturing the spirit of golf in the southwest. The new restaurant and bar is now complete, and it alone is worth the drive to Poston Butte. I enjoy sitting on the patio looking over the course, enjoying a pitcher of one of the many beers on tap, and discussing our just completed round with my golf buddies . A warning: Don't think too long before teeing off on #17, the island hole!
This is a great layout, has the widest fairways in Arizona but very difficult green complexes. It is intended to be part of a housing development that has yet to fully build out, it won't be as nice an ambiance when that happens but for now it's a pleasant experience. Walkable course.
