Oakwood Country Club, is a Semi-Private, 27 hole golf course facility located in Sun Lakes, Arizona. The facility has three (3) nine hole courses: The Lakes, The Palms and The Sonoran. These 3 nine hole courses can be combined to form 3 different 18-hole golf courses.
The course first opened for play in 1984.
The course offers three distinct Keith Foster designed 9-hole layouts - one parkland, one traditional links, and one navigating lakes.
Each pairing provides a par-72 challenge and 4 sets of tees to allow golfers to select as much challenge as they can handle.
The Palms-Sonoran Course plays 5,138 yards at the forward tees to 6,567 yards at the tournament tees. The first nine holes wind through lush parkland and water features, while the last nine are played on a more traditional links-style course. The final hole is a par-5, 559-yard play that brings golfers back to the Oakwood Golf Shop.
The Sonoran-Lakes Course begins on a traditional links style course and plays 4,966 yards at the forward tees to 6,577 yards at the tournament tees. The final nine holes circle around eight water features, ending on a challenging par 5 at the back of Oakwood Country Club.
The Lakes-Palms Course is a challenging combination that starts on the water-intensive Lakes course, and plays 5,343 yards on the forward tees to 6,508 yards on the tournament tees. Moving to the park-like setting of the Palms routing, the course ends with a par-5, 502-yard hole near the Oakwood Golf Shop.
