Torrey Pines Municipal Golf Course is a Public, 36 hole golf facility located in La Jolla, California. The facility has two 18-hole championship golf courses. They are The Torrey Pines North Course and The Torrey Pines South Course
The Torrey Pines North Course first opened for play in 1957. The North Course was designed by William F. Bell.
Both Torrey Pines North and South are traditionally designed courses with coastal views. The South Course is the tournament course and definitely the harder of the two courses, although, both courses are used for the PGA Tours Buick Invitational of California.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,647 yards. From the forward tees the course plays to 6,118 yards and plays to a par-74. The longest hole on the course is #1, a par-5 that plays to 520 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 3, a par-3 that plays to 121 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 8, the 436 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Torrey Pines North Course is # 16, a par-4 that measures 338 yards from the tips.
