Lakes Country Club, is a Private, 27 hole golf course facility located in Palm Desert, California. The facility has 3 nine hole courses, The East, South and North Course. They can be combined to form 3 different 18 hole combinations.
Lakes Country Club opened for golf in 1984. The courses were designed by Ted Robinson. His design incorporates mature shade trees, towering palms and Scottish-style bunkers. True to its name, The Lakes course brings water into play on nearly every hole. This course provides adequate challenge for any level of golfer along with viual pleasure.
Water hazards are in play on twenty-two of the twenty-seven holes. These are beautiful courses, excellently maintained, with waterfalls and lakes everywhere. The signature hole for the North Nine is #9, a 155-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot over water to the green. The signature hole on the East Nine is #7, a 158-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot over water and a rock wall that member's refer to as "The China Wall." This hole has ruined many a good round. All the greens are elevated and have narrow entrances.
