Detailed description

Palm Desert Resort Country Club, is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Palm Desert, California.

Palm Desert Resort Country Club first opened for play in 1983. The course was designed by Designed by Joe Mulleneaux.

Set against views of the Santa Rose and San Jacinto Mountains, Palm Desert Resort Country Club is a delight. The par 72, championship golf course enjoys mature trees and landscaping.

The unique design features spacious fairways and newly replaced, enlarged greens. Strategic locations of the many lakes and sand bunkers, as well as a choice of tee placements on every hole, provides a challenge for both the professional and novice golfer alike.

Greens are not easy. Wide fairways with water on 7 holes. Holes 9 and 18 are real challenges. Bent greens.

Championship tees: 6,571 yards 70.7 / 111. Middle tees: 6,288 yards 69.2 / 107. Forward tees: 5,670 yards 70.6 / 112.

Reviews

This course has been reviewed 5 time

Have played this course 3 times this winter and have enjoyed it each time. Staff is working hard to improve the quality of the course and the rate of play. We play in the morning and always finish between 3:45 and 4:15 hours/minutes. Staff is friendly and helpful.

This course is similar to a typical muni-style course as it needs more money spent on it to improve its appearance and amenities. There are some good holes and some are too long, 440 par 4, or have hazards in unusual locations. For one par 4 hole a layup tee ball may be required to avoid driving into a 60 yard wide pond, but then you may have too far to go to reach the green in regulation and come up short and go in the pond on the far side. A double whammy. The 18th hole is also a pond layup hole. I play the course because I have a friend that lives there. However, the course is interesting and challenging and fairly priced. Also, the local players are quite cordial to visitors. If I was not up to paying for one of the $100+ courses in the area, Palm Desert Resort would let me get my golf fix for a reasonable price.

The price was good, but only finished 14 holes in almost 5 hours! Greens were terribly slow and long. Not worth it for me to return and wait 5 minutes each hole to tee off!

As hot as you would expect in June. Greens were in pretty good shape considering the heat. Can't beat the price however.
