Golden Gate Park Golf Course opened in 1951. The course was designed by Jack Fleming. The course is a narrow, tree-lined course void of water hazards. Ladies and men use the same tee boxes.

Par for the course is 27. The course plays to 1357 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 5, a par-3 that plays to 193 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 8, a par-3 that plays to 109 yards.

Watch out for # 1, a 183 yard par-3 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Golden Gate Park Golf Course is # 9, a 178 yard par-3.

A non-profit entity affiliated with the First Tee of San Francisco took over operation of the course in 2014, and one of the first improvements has been the installation of new tees.  This is a golf experience well worth exploring, especially for those new to the game.
