Valley of the Moon Club, previously named Oakmont Golf Course, is a 36 hole private facility. The Valley of the Moon courses are located in Santa Rosa, California. The two 18 hole courses are named the Valley of the Moon Course (previously the West Course) and the Sugarloaf Course (previously the East Course).
The Valley of the Moon Course is a par 72 course while the Sugarloaf Course is an Executive par 63 course.
The Sugarloaf Course has been frequently referred to as one of Northern California's most challenging executive courses. While it was a golf course designed for seniors and beginners, it has become a challenge for all types of golfers.
Classed as an executive layout, Sugarloaf, with its large greens, 45 well-placed bunkers, heritage oak trees, water hazards, and scenic views of the Annadel State Park Forest, combine for a very enjoyable experience for all golfers.
The Sugarloaf Course opened in 1963. The course was designed by Ted Robinson.
The course par is 63, rating 61.2 and slope 100.
