Detailed description

Moffett Field Golf Club is a former military course, now open to the public. This 18 hole golf course is located in Sunnyvale, California.

Moffett Field Golf Club first opened for play in 1959 with 9-holes designed by Bob Baldock.  Robert Muir Graves designed the back nine, which was added in 1969.

In 2007, improvements were made to recontoured terrain, add partial concrete car paths, bunker restoration, and greens modification. The course remains at par 72, playing to a maximum of 6,572 yards from the challenging blue tees.

This course sits on flat ground and is easy to walk. The fairways are tree lined, and the greens are slightly sloped.  Water hazards (lakes) come into play on five holes.

Moffet used to be a cow pasture but since Google took it over it has improved in every aspect of conditioning and playability. With courses closing all around it is like having a brand new course available. It's always been there but who wants to play it. Well I do now and it can only get better

I play this course all the time. It does not drain well so you want to play it when it hasn't rained in a few days. It is the best price in the area and it is a great course to practice and hone your game. Greens run true most of the year but every now and then they get bumpy. For the price and the challenge of the course, it's the best bargain in the area. It's a poor mans country club...

Even after recent renovations, the course is a cow pasture with halfway decent greens. Getting there is a big problem. You have to show id multiple times, and on weekends you MUST go through the main gate on the opposite side of the base from the course. At other times call ahead if you are not sure which gates are open.

I've played over 130 golf courses -- this one is the absolute worst. Nothing good to say about it at all. It's a terrible layout, not much turf left on it, and it's right next to the bay (no views because of levees), so it's horribly windy. If I could only play this course for the rest of my life, I would quit golf.
