Detailed description

Los Robles Greens Golf Course is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Thousand Oaks, California.

Los Robles Greens first opened for play in 1964. The course was designed by Bob E. Baldock.

The course was renovated in 2016 by the Fry/Straka design team. The renovation included the removal of 30 acres of turf as well as the naturalization of 40 acres with approximately 55,000 native and adapted drought and pest resistant plants.

The picturesque Los Robles Greens Golf Course basks in the foothills of the beautiful, mountain-lined Conejo Valley. Situated in Thousand Oaks, just 39 miles from Los Angeles.

The course is situated twelve miles inland and 900 feet above sea level. The course is known for the giant oak trees that line its fairways and guard many of its undulating greens.

Par for the course is 70. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,304 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,206 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 14, a par-5 that plays to 611 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 2, a par-8 that plays to 157 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 10, a 445-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Los Robles Green is # 8, the 157 yard par-3.

Greens not super fast so breaks were always less than expected. Could use some signs to say where the next hole is as there were some areas where it was not bluntly obvious.

Have played this course six times in the last two months, always on Sunday morning. It is not 'long' but the layout keeps you on your toes, greens are always excellent and pace of play is good. We are usually done in 4-4.25 hours. Tee times can be booked on-line 8 days in advance and the system allows you to see all available times from which to choose. Plenty of marshals on course to keep things in order and monitor pace of play.

Nice public course with great greens. The fairways could be "lusher". The staff is great and the course is well kept with nice GPS carts.

Pace of play has always been an issue, but it seems to have gotten worse in the past six months. It is even worse when they have a tournament, as teetimes are regularly pushed back more than 30 minutes. These things are easy to correct, so that they remain issues means that management doesn't care enough, or that it has become a poorly run operation. It's really too bad. All it would take would be more consistent grounds maintenance, spreading the teetimes out a bit (even if it means losing some fees at the end of the day), and a good Marshall program, and this would be the top municipal course within 50 miles.

Great shape for a muni. Lots of mature trees and elevation. Well conditioned. It has been a while since I have played here since my Saturday group has been playing pricier tracks. I was pleasantly surprised.

Rather unique course. The short and easy front lulls you to sleep and then the long and hard back rips your heart out. I played medium and enjoyed it a lot. If I have been on my game it would have been great. Good test of your skills.
