Westwinds Golf Course, is a Public, 9 hole golf course located in Victorville, California.
West Winds is a nine-hole course that can be played as an 18 hole course and plays to 6,495 yards from the back tee settings. The course also has a maximum slope rating of 121. Add to this the wind as in Westwinds and you can see the challenge.
The course first opened for play in 1996 and was build on the grounds of George Air Force Base that has now been closed. It's desert country where in the early after noon, the wind can start with a vengeance. Westwinds offers scenic views of the Mojave River basin and Bell Mountain as well as panoramic views of Oro Grande, Apple Valley and Oak Hills.
The green fees are only about $20, including a cart.
The course closed in 2012.
