Wasco Valley Rose Champions Golf Course first opened for play in 1991. The par-72 course was designed by Bob Putman.
Wasco Valley has over seven acres of water spread throughout its design. The fairways are generally flat, with some mounding along the edges. The greens are large and undulating. There are many beautiful roses spread throughout the course. Additionally, there are mounds and sand bunkers around all the greens.

In 2006, the city of Wasco sold the course at a forclosure auction. The city's debt of $14 million was cleared by creditors when the course sold to a developer for $2.65 million. The plan was to keep the course open for a minimum of 5 years, and ultimately to use the property for residential development.
