Detailed description

South Hills Country Club is a Private 18 hole golf course located in West Covina, California.

The course, which opened in 1954, was designed by William P. Bell (also known as Billy Bell) and his son William F. Bell. One of the most conspicuous features of many Bell courses are the bunkers. Rustic with lacy edges, his bunkers blend seamlessly into the natural landscape and backdrop.

Setting on a knoll overlooking the San Gabriel Valley with an exquisite front row view of the Sierra Mountains, South Hills Country Club is located on one of the original Mexican Mission land grants-the Rancho Santa Anita. keeping with the heritage, an elegant Santa Barbara Mission style clubhouse was opened in 2000.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,301 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,603 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 18, a par-5 that plays to 561 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 10, a par-3 that plays to 150 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 9, a 387 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 10, a 150 yard par-3.
