The Country Club At Castle Pines Golf Course opened for play in 1986. The course was designed by Jack Nicklaus.
The Club is a part of Castle Pines Village, an exclusive gated golf community south of Denver. The Country Club at Castle Pines golf course is woven into the natural contours of the land, through ponderosa pine forest, dramatic elevation changes, and rugged mountainous terrain with some holes set among the upscale Village homes. The 7400-yard course, with breathtaking views of Colorado scenery, is enjoyable for beginners and low handicap players alike.
Starting at 7,000 feet above sea level, the first two holes of this par 72 course run dramatically atop a ridge, with Denver’s skyline in the distance. Mountain views include Pikes Peak to the south, Mt. Evans to the west and Long's Peak to the north. The fourth hole takes play through thick stands of Ponderosa pine and scrub oak on sloping terrain. Closing out the front nine, the ninth green is nestled at the base of a rock cliff. A 387 – yard par 4 requires and exacting shot to an elevated green.
The back nine begins from an elevated tee and leads players into a magnificent display of natural beauty on holes ten and eleven. Twelve through fifteen open up to natural rolling contours which challenge golfers accuracy and decision-making skill on every shot. The final three holes, a par 5 sixteenth and a par 3 seventeenth, will rival any finishing holes in the country, with eighteen providing an unforgettable conclusion to any round.
Country Club at Castle Pines measures 7373 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 147 and a 74.8 USGA rating. The course features 6 sets of tees for different skill levels. Greens and fairways are bent grass.
