New Haven Country Club, is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Hamden, Connecticut.
The original course opened in 1898. In 1920 it was decided that the golf course needed a redesign. Two-time British Champion, Willie Park, Jr. was selected as architect. Park designed a total of 114 courses around the world, but only personally supervised construction on a handful. NHCC was fortunate enough to be one of them, and Park's passion for putting inspired the courses famously rolling and difficult greens.
The Course lies along the east shore of Lake Whitney, a natural lake amid beautiful settings carefully preserved by the New Haven Water Company in its conservation and protection of the water supply for the city.
The course itself is on two levels, the lower running north along Lake Whitney, and the upper bordering the west side of Hartford Turnpike and Ridge Road. The view is truly magnificent.
