Dupont Country Club is a Private, 54 hole golf facility located in Wilmington, Delaware. The facility has two regulation 18-hole courses and one executive 18-hole golf course. The regulation courses are the DuPont Golf Course and the Nemours Golf Course. The executive course is the Montchanin Golf Course.
The Dupont Golf Course first opened for play in 1949. The course architect was Alfred H Tull. The course was totally renovated and reopened in 2005. The renovation was under the direction of Lester George.
The par 71 DuPont Course features five sets of tees to choose from with yardages measuring from 5,244 yards to 7,120 yards. From the championship tees, the par threes are challenging, measuring from 180 yards to 241 yards.
#15 is the most difficult. From the back tees, this par-4 measures 460 yards and is protected by deep bunkers and a creek (Husbands Run Creek) runs the entire length of the hole.
#18 is the signature hole. The hole offers the “risk and reward” option of two fairway choices on this 445 yards par-4. This hole offers a generous landing area on the right side of the Willow Run stream. From there you'll have a long, uphill second shot to an elevated, well-bunkered green. Risk takers seeking the reward play to the left of the stream to the smaller fairway for a shorter approach shot and the chance of being on the green in regulation.
