Forest Country Club, is a Private, 36 hole golf course located in Fort Myers, Florida.
This club has two eighteen hole golf courses. They are the Bear Course and The Bobcat Course.
The Bobcat at Forest Country Club first opened for play in 1980. The course was designed by Gordon G. Lewis. Gene Bates redesigned the Bobcat Course in the 1990s.
The Bobcat Course has water hazards coming into play on fourteen holes.
The par 72 Bobcat course is shorter than the Bear Course. Bobcat plays to a maximum distance of 6,400 yards for a course rating of 71.1 and a slope rating of 136
Bear at Forest Country Club first opened for play in 1980. The course was designed by Gordon G. Lewis. Lewis added the back nine to the Bear Course in 1986. Chip Powell redesigned the Bobcat Course in the 1990s.
The Bear Course has many trees coming into play, The signature hole on the Bear Course is #14, a 503-yard, par 5, requiring a tee shot up a narrow fairway with out-of-bounds stakes lining on one side of the fairway and a lake on the other, then an approach shot to an undulating green that is well bunkered.
The par-72 Bear Course plays to a maximum distance of 6,937 yards for a course rating of 74.5 and a slope rating of 137.
