Fort Myers Country Club is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Fort Myers, Florida.

The Fort Myers Country Club known as "The Fort" first opened for play in 1917. The course was designed by Donald Ross. The Fort is one of the oldest golf courses on the west coast of Florida and the Fort Myers Country Club plays like golf should be! Golfers find it to be a fun quality place. Walking is permitted every day of the year and any time of the day. The Fort is set in a unique and warm setting in the heart of Fort Myers.

The Fort Myers Country Club golf course plays to a par-71 and a maximum distance of 6,421. The course rating is 70.5 and the slope rating is 118.

The "Fort" has history and tradition. The "Fort" is only one mile south of the Thomas Edison Home and Mr. Edison, Mr. Henry Ford, and others loved to play this course in the 1920's.

The Coors Open, a Pro-Am golf tournament that began in 1963 and is the longest running event in Southwest Florida. The 47th Annual Coors Open was held on March 14-15, 2009. Fort Myers resident and PGA Tour member, Randy Leen won the 2009 tournament with a score of 67-66-133. One local writer refers to the Coors Light Open as the biggest little tournament in the United States. He is so right! There is no charge for admission; no fee for parking and spectators can walk right next to the players!
