Keys Gate Golf Club is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Homestead, Florida.
The Keys Gate Golf Club golf course first opened for play in 1990. The golf course was designed by Zocky & Associates.
Keys Gate Golf Club golf course can be very challenging for the average golfer because the fairways are narrow. The course has small and elevated greens, and water hazards (large lakes) come into play on numerous holes, including #9, a 360-yard, par 4, which has a lake guarding the left side of the hole from tee to green. In many ways, this is the "stereotypical" Florida course, flat, with lots of ponds, and palm trees.
The golf course Keys Gate Golf Club plays 6,505 yards from the Blue tees for a course rating of 71.9 and a slope rating of 121. Par is 72.

The course was purchased and closed by local businessman Wayne Rosen in late 2014. “It had not been maintained for many years; it was in horrible conditions with very few players,” Rosen said in explaining the move.
Keys Gate is a gated community made up of 14 neighborhoods and more than 3,000 homes that includes some of the highest property values in Homestead, ranging anywhere between $250,000 and $500,000.
Rosen proposed assessing property owners in the development to pay for maintenance and remodeling of the golf course. According to reports, that idea met with resistance and was a non-starter.
The saga continues... Wayne is scheduled to present in December 2015 a proposal to the city council for the city of Homestead, Fla. to approve a $3.5 million loan of federal funds earmarked for alleviating blight, which he would use to rebuild Keys Gate Golf and Country Club. He would then develop as many as 1,000 new homes around the golf course, obviously depending on market acceptance. Reportedly the project meets the criteria for the loan as a “job-creation initiative.”
