Quail Heights Country Club is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Lake City, Florida, off of I75 between Gainesville and Jacksonville Florida.
The Jerry Cooper designed course opened for play in 1973 with the Creeks 9 and the Pond 9. In 1994 the Dunes 9 was added making this a 27-hole course. The Dunes 9 was designed by Graham Cooke. The Dunes 9 closed in 2011, returning the course to its original Creeks/Pond 18-hole design.
The course is fairly flat with narrow fairways. Water hazards come into play on 75% of the holes. There are however, a less than an average number of sand bunkers. Nevertheless, shot accuracy is the key to playing well at Quail Heights. The greens are somewhat sloped and with speed in part determined by seasonal weather conditions.
