Detailed description

Normandy Shores Golf Course is a Public, 18 hole golf course located adjacent to Biscayne Bay in Miami Beach, Florida.

The course dates to 1916. The layout was designed by William S. Flynn and Howard C. Toomey, Mark Mahannah redesigned this course in the 1950's. The course eventually grew old and neglected, but the original routing was inspired and the location was ideal. nevertheless, the lack of reinvestment and maintenance and decreasing revenue caused the course to close in 2004. After sitting for four years, Normandy Shores Golf Club reopened on December 23, 2008, following an extensive $9 million makeover by Arthur Hills and Steve Forrest. They retained the original routing, however, they flipped the two nines.

The course has several dogleg fairways, and water hazards come into play on twelve holes. Many of the water hazards are hidden from view and you don't realize they are there until you're in them. Playing this course previously is a real advantage.
