Golden Hills Golf & Turf Club first opened for play in 1964. The course was designed by Charles Pace and Lee Popple. The course was renovated/redesigned in 2003 by Rees Jones.

This Rees Jones redesigned course is built on rolling terrain. The highest point in Marion County is located on the #4 tee box, approximately 500 feet above sea level. The fairways vary in width and many of them are tree-lined. All the greens and tees are elevated, and the small greens are undulating.

Watch out for # 9, a 488-yard par-5 challenge, and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Golden Hills is # 11, a 167-yard par-3.
