Floridian National Golf Club, previously named Floridian Yacht & Golf Club, is a Private, 36 hole golf facility located in Palm City, Florida. The facility has the 18 hole Gary Player Championship Course and the new (2018) Bruce Harmon Par-3 Course.
The Gary Player designed course first opened for play in 1996.
Jim Crane (Houston businessman, Worldwide Logistics, Crane Capital, owner of Houston Astros), purchased the Floridian from H. Wayne Huizenga (Billionaire founder Waste Management. Inc. Blockbuster Video, Auto Nation) in April 2010 and immediately embarked on major renovations. The course was completely rebuilt by architect Tom Fazio. Approximately 250,000 cubic yards of material/dirt was moved. TifGrand grass on all fairways/tee boxes, MiniVerde on greens. All fairways are sand capped to ensure the top surface is firm/fast.
Located next to the Saint Lucie River, the course features flat greens that are medium to fast in speed. The fairways are wide open, and wind plays a major factor, especially in the early afternoons. The signature hole is #5, a 435-yard, par 4, featuring a dogleg right fairway and water surrounding the entire right side up to the green. Guests must be accompanied by a member.
