Palms Golf Club at Forest Lakes, originally named Forest Lakes Golf Club is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Sarasota, Florida.
Forest Lakes Golf Course first opened for play in 1964. The course was a 6,450-yard par-71 layout designed by Roy Albert Anderson.
The Forest Lakes Golf Club was affectionately known as Sarasota's "In Town Golf Club". The course is conveniently located near downtown Sarasota nestled among pine and oak trees. The course featured Bermuda grass and tactically placed fairway traps that provide a challenging golf experience. The course's fairways are narrow and tree-lined, and the greens are small and undulating.
The course closed in 2008. It reopened in January 2016. The course has been shortened by 1,900 yards. The course was redesigned by Gordy Lewis. The new design plays to a maximum distance of 4,545 yards and a par of 64.
