North River Golf Club, previously named Pine Lakes Golf Club, is a Semi-Private, 18 hole executive golf course on 71 acres in Stuart, Florida.
The golf course first opened for play in 1971. North River Golf Course was designed by Arthur Young.
This executive course features a lot of trees and water hazards as part of its design. The fairways are very tight, but there is very little sand. There are six par 3's, twelve par 4's, and no par 5's.
The course features that old Florida look with southern oak and pine trees. The designated green space has very little sand, but the water hazards and some tight fairways will provide a challenging golf experience.
Par for the course is 66. From the back tees, the course plays to 4,766 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 3,912 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 15, a par-4 that plays to 380 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 2, a par-3 that plays to 113 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 9, a 375 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 14, a 140 yard par-3.
County records show that Jack Neargarder and Jack Eckenrode purchased the Pine Lakes Golf Club, for $900,000 in August 2014. They renamed it North River after buying it from Dick Filkins, who paid more than $2.3 million for the golf course and driving range in 1986. The club was in disrepair when purchased. The partners invested in maintenance, new equipment, irrigation upgrades and clubhouse renovations.
