Winding through a former orange-grove town just east of Tampa, Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club has retained much of the charm and style of its earlier days in the 1920s. While the surrounding area has developed into a bustling suburb, the golf course meanders through quiet streets and along the Hillsborough River. With generous fairways lined with mature trees and gently rolling hills, Temple Terrace offers a lush, playable layout. Among the memorable holes is the 10th, a long dogleg right par-four with an uphill tee shot, trees lining the right side and a downhill approach to a well-bunkered green.

Temple Terrace was built in the 1920's and has had 80 years of fine tuning. The result is a great golf course with narrow fairways, traps strategically positioned, and ample sizeed greens. An obvious distinguishing characteristic of the course are the trees. The large, mature trees line most of the fairways and force the golfer to hit straight shots, or suffer the consequences. The fairways aren't so narrow that you can't hit your driver. Many of the holes are risk/reward type holes where an aggressive drive can set up a much easier second shot. Each hole has four sets of tees, so any golfer can play from a tee that makes sense. Play the back tees on a day when the wind is up and this golf course will challenge anybody, amateur or pro. Only two holes, the par 5, 7th and the par 3, 8th have water hazards in play. The greens are fast and putt true. This is a par 72 course.
