Stoneybrook West Golf Course is an 18 hole public golf course located in Winter Garden, Florida.
The course first opened for play in 2000. The course was designed by Arthur Hills.
Playing to 7,101 yards, from the back tees but with three other sets of tees for those not quite ready for the challenge of the PGA Tour, Stoneybrook West allows each golfer to decide just how much of a challenge they want to make their round. Hills wants you to be faced with risk and reward scenarios on every hole. There are options for every shot; you can play conservatively or aggressively, either way, you will learn to appreciate the course design characteristics."
This links-style layout features a naturally rolling landscape complimented by fairway mounding, strategically placed green-side bunkering, and numerous bodies of water. Water plays a prominent role in the design. Lakes and ponds border the fairways or greens on 12 holes - six on each of the nines. Sand bunkers are also in play, with many protecting the mildly undulating greens. Green-side swales and collection areas also make recoveries from offline approaches a challenge.
Although non-obtrusive, portions of the course are bordered by housing.
