Maple Ridge Golf Club opened for play in 1993. The course was designed by Mike Young. In 1999 the course was rennovated and "tweaked" by Craig Schreiner and 1987 Masters champ and Columbus resident Larry Mize.
Maple Ridge Golf Club was built as part of their Maple Ridge residential community development. The two of them took great advantage of the natural terrain, making major improvements to the course. Blind shots were reduced.
