Champions Retreat Golf Club

Champions Retreat Golf Club is a Private 27 hole golf facility located, Evans, Georgia, on the north side of Augusta near the Savannah River. The facility has three 9-hole golf courses, The are The Bluff Course, The Island course and The Creek Course. These nine hole courses can be combined into three different 18-hole combinations.

The Golf Courses at Champions Retreat Golf Club first opened for play in 2005. The Bluff Course was designed by Jack Nicklaus, The Island course was designed by Arnold Palmer, and The Creek Course was designed by Gary Player.

Gary Player chose the 1999 Masters Champions Dinner as his setting to recruit Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer to share in his dream of a 27-hole, private golf club, located in the golf capital of the world - Augusta, Georgia. The three golf legends agreed to each design nine signature holes of championship golf on the nearly twelve hundred available acres of Georgia pines, long-standing hardwoods and wetlands located along the Savannah River.

Champions Retreat Golf Club offers three unique golf settings - the exciting elevation changes of the Bluffs on Nicklaus' nine, Palmer's nine which plays onto a 280-acre island with miles of shoreline along the Savannah and Little Rivers, and the low country marshes of Euchee Creek on Player's nine.

THE BLUFF COURSE / Jack Nicklaus__________

This is a nice, rolling piece of property with mature pines throughout. Very little dirt has been moved, which means the course fits nicely with the existing terrain and its surroundings. There is a great deal of variety in the routing, with this nine featuring uphill and downhill shots, as well as a balance of right-to-left and left-to-right holes.

THE ISLAND COURSE / Designed by Arnold Palmer_________

The Palmer Island Nine is flanked on one side by the broad Savannah River, and the other side by the Little River. The hardwoods and pines along the riverbank were saved and the fairways have been raised to take advantage of the beautiful vistas out in the rivers.

THE CREEK COURSE / Designed by Gary Player__________

The opening four holes play a beautiful wetland area, while the remaining holes move upland through native hardwood trees. The ninth hole dramatically plays over and around a large lake on the right. All level players will finish the nine with a variety of shot making challenges.
