Cherokee Pines Golf Course, previously named Perry Country Club is an 18-hole semi-private golf course located in Perry, Georgia.
Perry Country Club's original tract of land for the first nine holes comprised 70 acres. The first nine holes and swimming pool opened in the spring and summer of 1952. Land for construction of the remaining nine holes to complete the 18 hole layout was purchased in November 1969. The new nine holes opened on Labor Day 1970. In August of 1992, the clubhouse was destroyed by fire. A new clubhouse was designed, constructed and opened in the fall of 1993.
Perry Country Club features an 18 hole, 6,465 yard, par-71 championship golf course cut from the pines of Middle Georgia. With their lush Bermuda grass fairways, new TifEagle Bermuda grass greens and 3 sets of tees, the course offers an enjoyable and challenging test of golf. With very little elevation change over the entire 18 holes, the course is very pleasurable to walk.
Water hazards (three ponds) come into play on five holes, including #6, a 484-yard, par 4, featuring water down the right side the first half of the hole, which then bisects the green. The par-71 course is 6,465 yards from the blue tees, 5,889 yards from the white tees, and 5,386 yards from the red tees.
