Bacon Park Golf Course is a public, 27 hole golf facility located in Savannah, Georgia. The facility has 3 nine-hole course. They are Cypress, Live Oak, and Magnolia. They can be combined to form 3 different 18-hole pairings.
Bacon Park Golf Course first opened for play in 1926. The course was designed by Donald Ross. J. Porter Gibson redesigned nine holes and added three others in 1971. Denis Griffiths and Ron Kirby redesigned the entire course when they added the third nine in 1985.
The Live Oak Course is the longest of the three courses and is best known for its elevated greens. The signature hole on the Live Oak Course is #9, a 581-yard, par 5, that requires two shots over water.
The Cypress Course features water hazards (seven lakes) coming into play on six holes.
The Magnolia Course is a combination of the other two designs, including both elevated greens and water hazards.
The on-site Bacon Park Golf School provides instruction for all skill levels.
