The Palmetto Course was the fourth of The Landings Club's six golf courses.The Club has six 18-hole Championship golf courses designed for Landings Club members and their guests by four master architects. - Arnold Palmer, Willard Byrd, Arthur Hills, and Tom Fazio. Each course is stylistically unique, showcasing the natural beauty of Skidaway Island as well as the distinctive mark of its designer.
The Palmetto Course opened for play October 1985. The course was designed by Arthur Hills.
The Palmetto Course a is considered by many to be the most challenging course at The Landings. In 2005, the course was renovated. The Palmetto course demands length off the tee as well as accuracy to avoid the numerous and deep bunkers.
#1 thru 6 on Palmetto are a real challenge. 7 thru 15 provide your best chance to score well but the 16th, 17th, and 18th are difficult to finish with pars.
#10 has one of the most beautiful oak trees on the island, just to the right of the green.
#13 has the gravesite of Mr. Philip Delegal, an early settler of Skidaway Island.
#18 has a peninsula green surrounded on three sides by a lagoon.
