The Turtle Run Golf Club Golf Course first opened in 1969 as the Danville Elks Country Club. The course was designed by William J. Spear.

Turtle Run Golf Club is perhaps best known for its four challenging par 3's, including its signature hole, #8, which measures 213 yards and requires a tee shot over a lake. The greens are large, undulating, and fast, and the fairways are open. There is a creek that comes into play on eleven holes.
